Choose from a variety of side dishes from RedMart to enhance your meals

Spring rolls are popular appetizers, they are also consumed as snacks since they are light and made with healthy ingredients. But they are not the same. Spring and summer rolls have their origin in Southeast and South Asia but have become a lot more popular globally. While the first variant is deep-fried the latter is more refreshing and lighter. Spring variant originated in China and it was made to mark the start of the New Year in the spring season. The wrapper is as thin as paper and made using water and flour. The filling of these side dishes includes a combination of shrimp, pork, cabbage, and bean sprouts. They are served with sweet, sour sauce, vinegar, or Worcestershire dipping sauce.

The egg roll is similar to it and originated in America. But in this case, an egg is added to the batter of the wrapper. This results in a thick batter and the skin looks bumpy and blistered rather than smooth. Summer rolls are convenience food that is served cold and are perfectly suited for eating in summer. The wrapper is translucent in this case. They are also known as salad rolls, or fresh spring rolls, or Vietnamese spring rolls. The stuffing of this food contains carrots, rice noodles, cucumbers, lettuce, shrimp, herb, and pork which is wrapped in a wrapper made using rice paper. They are served using hoisin or peanut dipping sauce. Whatever might be the difference between these three delicacies, they give a fresh taste and are loved across several nations.

Make amazing side dishes with puff pastry

Puff pastry has a buttery, airy, and light texture, it is endlessly versatile to make a variety of dishes from samosa to rolls. This product can be dressed in numerous savory and sweet ways to make quick appetizers, desserts, and main courses. It is a great option if you are having guests at home. While using this frozen food, it is important to thaw it i.e. keep it out of the freezer in the refrigerator for at least 24 hours before using it. If you have forgotten to do so, then you can defrost at room temperature for a few hours.

The spring roll pastry is available in folded sheets. it should be unfolded gently to prevent any breakage or holes. Use your fingers gently and use little water if required. Remove the pastry from the packaging on a surface that is lightly floured so that it does not stick to it. A rolling pin that is lightly floured will also work. Remove the excess flour. In the case of a dessert, use cinnamon sugar or sugar instead of flour. Finely grated cheese can also be used in place of flour. Do not roll very thin pastry, else it might break while stuffing. Buy some tasty snacks and rolls and get ready for your next evening gathering with friends and family.
